Do you think caffeine/sugar intake during pregnancy could effect your child in the sense of making them "overactive"?

So I haven't looked up on this, just in a debate with co-workers. For example: Both my co-workers ingested caffeine freely and had a lot of sugar while pregnant (co-worker #1 had a slushie and multiple sodas daily). Both of their children were very active in the womb (which is an actual effect due to caffeine/sugar as it spikes blood pressure) but what about after birth? Both babies (under 2) are very busy, super active children that are hard to get to sit still and always on the run. Thought?

All kids especially toddlers are very hyper not uncommon would be weird if the kids lacked energy

I drank one coffee a day and didn’t drink much soda and I’m really a sweets person. My 18m old is always on the go and hardly ever sits still. I think it’s pretty normal for toddlers to be active. We go to lots of play groups and she is the same as all the other kids in terms of running around and playing.

Agree with the others on this most toddlers are full of beans! I drank 1-2 coffees a day while pregnant plus eating alot of chocolates and sugary lollies an sweets (my cravings were anything sweet!) my daughter didn’t move a hell of alot like some people say their babies never stop she was more a wriggler than a massive mover. Shes just turned 5 months an so far doesn’t seem overly hyperactive 🤷‍♀️

I’m not too sure about that… I think toddlers just pretty active For the most part. Although, they all have different temperaments, I really don’t think that has to do with caffeine or sugar in the womb.
I do know that both of those things can have long term affects on kids that we don’t even think about. Such as putting them at risk for diabetes and other metabolic conditions, as well as obesity… And caffeine can put them at risk for heart problems.

I drank lots of caffeine and such when pregnant and still now as I’m breastfeeding - my baby wasn’t very active in the womb, rather quiet tbh, and he doesn’t seem affected by it now at 1 month either.

I drank HELLA caffeine during pregnancy (coffee, soda, shakes). It didn’t affect me or the baby

I drank the max amount of caffeine when I was pregnant with my son every day.. and everything with him has been sooo super calm and easy! Still is! I’m pregnant with my daughter now and she already seems way more active! I actually didn’t know I was pregnant with her for awhile and was drinking red bulls every day so I’m kind of worried about that
