When did your kids sleep in their own room?

My daughter is going to be 2 next month and she sleeps in her crib in our room next to our bed. Our 7 month old sleeps with us but we arent getting any good rest anymore because he moves alot, my bf is suggesting we use our toddlers crib for our son and have our daughter sleep in a toddler bed. He wants to have both of them out the room and into their own room next to ours but im so scared, they have never slept without us and im feeling guilty, what if she gets scared? Sad? Lonely? Arent they still too little? My mom said shes still too little for her own room and dont let it happen. My bf also suggested we could buy a baby gate so i feel more sure they will be safe & buy a baby monitor. Hes really insisting us to have our own room and idk if its just my mom instincts to keep them around. Can anyone share advice or tell me their experience?
