Flu shot?

I got the flu shot because I work at a daycare/preschool so I have to have it ☹️😓 but I really didn't want to get being pregnant because I'm worried for the baby of course. And everytime I get it I end up being sick a few days later. Are any of you ladies getting it? I know my doctor told me it's safe and better to get it so I can protect myself and baby better, so that made me feel a little better. However I'm still worried about it

The flu shot is not a live virus and therefore cannot cause you to get sick. I would be more concerned about my health and the health of the baby if you did get the flu. Not to mention, flu season typically peaks around the time you will be in your last trimester. I wouldn’t want to deal with that or take the risk.

The flu shot will not make you sick. Your body is developing antibodies to the virus after the vaccine so during that time it may be easier for you to get a cold or something circulating since your immune system is working to protect yourself from the flu.

I got mine yesterday. I get one every year anyway, but especially find it important to get one this year. I'll make sure DH gets one too.

Don’t normally get flu shots but now that I’m pregnant I’m def getting one. I don’t want to risk having the flu when pregnant or soon after birth

Yes. Get it. I didn’t with my son. Didn’t get the flu while pregnant BUT lucky me I got it while he was a newborn and I was trying to figure out breastfeeding still and also not get him sick.

I lost my baby last year because of getting the flu and having a risky pregnancy, im not making the same mistake this year of not getting it because im pregnant.

I just read a new study that indicates a lot of red flags and negative effects with the flu shot in pregnant women. Apparently it hadn’t really been studied before and now scientists are making these recent discoveries. I’m opting out.

I was reading in ‘What to Expect...’ that if you get the flu shot your baby keeps the immunity through the flu season after it’s born. (Although idk when your due, the season might be about over)
Also it said that your immunities can get passed to your baby through breast milk (to some extent). So what I’m taking away from this is I can get the flu shot and kill two birds with one stone: keep myself from getting the flu while pregnant and one less vaccine for the baby.

It's never made me sick but I always get it. Don't want to risk anything 🤷‍♀️
