WTH? Near pos OPK after O?

Question

Hey guys. On Sept 17th I got my first positive OPK and that lasted until the 19th. Late 19th and all of 20th was a strong negative. I went to the ER yesterday and was diagnosed with a corpus luteum cyst and today I got this with my OPK. Can corpus luteum cysts cause false positive OPKs? Or is it not a corpus luteum at all and I had a failed ovulation? Thanks guys.

If you had a corpus luteum cyst then ovulation already occurred. Corpus luteums appear after the egg has ruptured from the follicle & the cyst is what regulates progesterone during the luteal phase & for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy until the placenta takes over. Your OPK is dark but usually when it’s blazing positive, the line will be darker than the control line. Did they diagnose your cyst by using ultrasound? Sorry hun I hope this helps a bit. You also have LH circulating in your system all of the time. Some women have more LH than others. Hope all is okay & I think it’s safe to say you ovulated if they found a corpus luteum on your ovary.
