October baby came in September.

Sara

After having period like pains that radiated up my back, to not feeling my baby move all day prompted me to go to the OB for a check up, they tried to hook me up to an NST machine to monitor him & couldnt find his heartbeat. So I had an ultrasound to make sure he was okay. They found his heartbeat, but it was lower than normal. Ranging between 98-112 when it should be 120-180. They told me they were unsure why his heart was beating lower than normal, but it was beating.i was told to call my boyfriend and my mother to come meet me because I could be going to the hospital because he was not active on the ultrasound. I called crying, scared that something was really wrong with my baby.

They took me in for another ultrasound just to grab measurements they needed, and they confirmed that I had low amniotic fluid. (I knew that because I had an abnormal pap a couple years ago and they told me it would be low but we would have to watch it.) At this point I was freaking out even more because I didn't understand how I was so healthy and then not. They took me back to the NST machine so they could watch me for a while and the doctor could asses me. I asked if I could go to the restroom because I was nervous and had to pee. Lol they told me yes and I realized that I was bleeding. (Not heavy. But not light either). I came out of the bathroom and told my midwife and she told me we were going to the hospital ASAP. They put me in a wheelchair and ran me over to the hospital as fast as they could.

When I got there my mom was waiting for me and my boyfriend had just pulled up. There were at least 10 people grabbing me and pulling my clothes off, asking me questions, starting IVs. I was so nervous I didnt know what was happening.

The doc came in and told me he needed to do an emergency C Section because my babies heart rate was all over the place and I was bleeding.

I've never had major surgery before so I was already so scared but I knew for myself and for my baby to be safe i had to do this. They gave me an epidural and prepped me for surgery. They allowed my boyfriend to come and sit with me as we waited on the arrival of our son. They got him out just in time.. and he wasn't breathing. The amazing nurses worked hard to get him to breath and a min later I heard him cry. It was faint, but my baby was okay. I on the other hand, lost alot of blood. My placenta abrupted as he was coming out. But I didnt feel a thing. Everyone told me I was lucky to listen to my body when I did, because my baby would have died if i waited longer.

9-12-18 @ 3:54pm Asher Dean was born. Weighing 4Lbs 12oz. 19in. And he was so perfect. I was 34weeks 5 days.

Hes still in the NICU but he is thriving and we are hoping to take him home next week. 💚
