Yes, I would like to know so that I can decide whether I feel it’s right to continue with the pregnancy or even just to prepare myself for any potential problems/peace of mind. I don’t think you lose anything from having it done as it just means you’re more informed but it’s up to you really :) x

I’m having it done at 11 weeks, having the Nuchal scab ultrasound and the bloodwork, I would never abort or terminate the pregnancy I will for sure have this baby no matter what but having siblings with special needs and one born with cleft lip and palate and heart problems I want to make sure I’m aware of anything, no one caught my brothers cleft lip and palate and when he was born my mom was in shock and my entire family we had no idea how to handle a baby with that and doctors were shocked too since they didn’t catch any of it on ultrasounds so I want to make sure I do every test he also has autism and I had been tested back in high school and was told I carry a genetic gain whatever that means and was told I will need to have certain tests run when I was pregnant so here I am first baby and scared to death! Praying she’s healthy and praying wisdom for the doctors so that they see everything and I can be prepared for whatever happens.

I did the testing and it was more of a piece of mind for us. Whatever genetic and chromosome testing outcome came we wouldn’t change anything on the pregnancy. Just more good information for my part. My mom was adopted and we had no really family history so that’s why we paid the money. Plus we got to find out what our little one gender was early!

We decided to skip any genetic blood testing on the twins aside from testing my blood for cystic fibrosis. Our reasoning was because we don’t intend on aborting the pregnancy even if something came back “positive” with one or both of the babies. False positives are more common in twins, especially when it comes to trisomy 23 screening, so to me it wasn’t worth the money. Praying for a healthy set of twins but I’ll take my babies just the way they are. 😘❤️

Thank you all! Yes, I would only want the testing for peace of mind as well. It of course wouldn’t change anything at all with my pregnancy. I’m so happy and blessed to be pregnant, either way! My undergrad is in special education, so I’m very familiar with all the therapy and things needed if my child may have special needs and being the planner I am, would like to have some of those things set in place already with the best therapists in my area, if needed :) Also, I can’t wait to find out the gender and love that you get to find out so much earlier! I just need to see if my insurance covers any of it or not because my doctor said it’s an $800 test.

I have to get it done guys time because i'm considered a "geriatric pregnancy". 
There are 2 different test. Im doing the blood test (no US) because its 99.9% correct.  The other one does something with the baby not just blood work, comes with US, and is only 95%. I know people who have gotten false positives. 
If I had a choice i wouldn't get any tests done.  No matter what. This is my child that i was chosen to be its mother.

In the Netherlands you have to pay quite a big amount of money for this test out of your own pocket. Because i'm only 23 and my husband too my doc said that the money would be better spent on baby clothes etc. It is only recommended when your pregnancy is high risk or if you are over 35 years old. But I personally would not want to do it as in my opinion a child is a gift from god,come what may.
