Bottle sterilizer-maybe I’m crazy but is this something we need?

Hot water and soap are all you need. Whay mother needs MORE to do?

Here in the U.K. you suppose to wash bottles with soap and water, then use a bottle steriliser as kills all germs.. for me I’ve always used one so comes second nature to buy one when pregnant..

In the Netherlands we are advised to wash the bottle with soap and water and then sterilize in sterilizer of just in the first place put the bottles in a pan of boiling water. 
Same with (most of) the parts of the breastpump. 
A sterilizer saves time and gas, but is not nescesary. Especially because you only have to sterilize the bottles/pump the first 3-4 weeks. After that, they’ll just get in the dishwasher or washed by hand

soap and hot water is all you need. if you have a dishwasher, there are super hot settings on them usually and that would do the job. you can go ahead and wash bottles with your other dishes

It saves time but, it doesn't actually get rid of bacteria it just kills it. So now you have dead bacteria on your hands. Just as unclean.

Unless your baby has a condition that causes lower immune system, scrubbing well with soap and warm water will kill any germs. Also could use a dishwasher to deep clean or put on sanitize cycle but I preferred to hand wash mine. And never had any issues. Key is to wash them right away, don’t let them sit too long.

we just wash with hot soapy water and boil them for a few mins. Or if I only have a few parts I use the steam bag.
