Two cribs? Or bed?

My LO will be 21 months when baby #2 arrives. Will I need two cribs or can I transition her to a big girl bed before baby #2 comes? Suggestions

I transitioned my daughter from crib to toddler bed at 13.5 months. I had my second when she was 15 months. It wasn't because we had a second. It was simply because my daughter loves to play in her room when she wakes up. Her being able to get out bed herself made it easier on everyone.

My daughter will be 25 mos when #2 arrives. She just got a toddler bed for her birthday this week so we are starting to transition her once it's set up. Our plan is for them to share a room once #2 sleeps through the night. I do wish we had started sooner as I'm quite anxious about it.

Our son was 17 months when his sister was born. We got a second crib for her room, and he is still in his crib now at 21 months. I don’t have any intention of changing that until it’s necessary (He starts climbing out haha). He’s happy and sleeps great!

We transitioned our first out of a crib around 15 months. She started trying to climb out, her crib converted to a toddler bed. She had no issues! Around 3 we put her in a twin size bed.

I just had my second baby and my oldest is 21 months and I debated with this too. I bought the toddler rail for his crib just in case but he is still in his crib set up as a crib. To me making sure his sleep stayed the same so I wouldn’t have to worry about that and a newborn waking in the middle of the night. He is a huge climber but surprisingly has never tried to climb out of his crib yet. So we have two cribs. My oldest is a mover in his sleep thus why I’m keeping him in the crib style for as long as he will stay contained haha

Mine are 21 mo apart. My oldest stayed in her crib until close to 2.5 so we definitely needed the second crib. We might have been able to get away with one, but I’m glad we got the second one.

If you feel she's ready, put her in a big bed. My son was 16 months when he started sleeping in a twin sized bed. He loves it, but I did have to sleep train him (took a week).

I transitioned my son to his toddler bed at 21 months. It was very easy for him. Our only issue was him falling because he’s a very active sleeper (he was never bothered, just slept on the floor where he landed) so we found a bumper on Amazon that keeps him in while sleeping but is still low enough he can climb out when awake.

That’s up to you, there’s no definite answer. My daughter will be 26 moths when this baby comes and I plan on keeping her in her crib.
