Weight gain with birth control

Hi ladies, I want to start taking birth control for it’s many benefits but I heard it can make you gain weight? I really don’t want that happening, what are your guys’ experience with it? Are there certain types of birth control that are worse than others for weight gain? Let me know, thanks!
