When did you start regularly taking your baby outside the house (other than the pediatrician)?

I was so careful with my first and wanted to wait beyond four weeks but that was about as long as we waited. However, I was able to be home as much as I wanted. I was cautious with my second but had to be out more because we have a seven year old who is very busy with school and activity. 
I do think the winter months call for more concern. 
I know some people whose babies developed RSV and had residual lifelong problems due to getting sick while newborns (or before three months). I know someone whose newborn actually tragically died from a cold. 
To me it’s not worth the risk because you can’t take it back. But ultimately, it’s mama’s decision. Just be aware that, even with breastfeeding, baby can still get sick.  Those early days feel long but they are VERY short in the scheme of life.

I didn’t take my kiddos until after their first round of vaccinations. Do what you are comfortable with.

We started doing walks around the block when my son was 1 week old. It was a good way for me to get out of the house and get a little exercise in. We kinda avoided high volume public places( like the mall)  until he was a lil older.

My baby was born in December of cold winter so I didn't take her out not even for her 1st app cuz it was freezing below -10 so no I didn't take my baby out until it was safe n more warmer to be out side I live in Vermont we get freezing cold temperatures up here

I took my baby out when my episiotomy healed at about 2 weeks. He has a car seat cover I always used

We took our son everywhere from 3 days old. Mind you he was born in July. So illness was not a concern. This baby though it will be January so I will be more cautious but I hibernate in the winter anyways lol

Both my girls were born in September and October. Around flu season and around the time everyone gets sick from the cold weather.
I didn’t take then out till they got their shots, i wasn’t risking it. People made it easy for me by washing their hands and staying away if sick.

Our first was a mid June baby so we took her for walks around the neighborhood but I can’t even recall the first time we went somewhere indoors with her. It was awhile. This time I’m having a December baby and I’m basically planning to hunker down like a squirrel for the long winter.
