shaving before delivery

SO i am getting induced at 4:30 am(couple hours) This is my first pregnancy & I was not told i am not supposed to shave before hand 🙄 i had no clue, I used Nair & it burned my outter Vag a little bit, i was just told by my mom that i just increased my chances of an infection while delivering.. i don’t know how true that is but now i feel so stupid for shaving. I need help , it’s there anything i can put on my vag so that it can heal ? would Vaseline work ? neosportin? i had no idea 🤦🏽‍♀️
