My boys were born and have different birthdays!

First of all I’m shocked that everything about my experience was the opposite of articles and stories I read. Starting with the water breaking. My entire pregnancy all I heard and read was “it’s not like the movies”. Well I beg to differ. I was sound asleep Sunday morning when I woke up to feeling like a car wash just came out of my vagina! My water broke at 5:36 am and I immediately went to the local hospital to be transported under medical supervision to a hospital with NICU. By 8 am I had landed

And got settled in L&D. I started having contractions when I was on helicopter. They didn’t intensify until about 10-11am. I had an epidural by 12:30 and didn’t dilate to a 10 until around 10:30pm. They got me in the OR and everything was stupid crazy from then on.

I didn’t care about a single person in the OR. I just wanted them out. Let me tell you pushing a baby out is no freaking joke. It took me an hour to get baby A out. And another hour and 45 minutes to get baby B out.

I am so so grateful I didn’t have to have a c section, BUT it was not easy. Baby B decided to move high up after I got A out. So an hour after pushing I finally got him down to my pubic bone and then he decided to keep turning to the side looking at my hips. The doctor legit stuck her entire forearm in me despite the fact that my epidural had worn off and they didn’t want to give me more for fear I wouldn’t be able to push him out. After yelling at the doc not to touch me again my other doc stepped in and attempted the vacuum twice and finally

Extracted him via forceps.

They are both doing very well. Baby B had severe bruising from the forceps but he’s healthy and may be discharged tomorrow. I think he just wanted his own birthday.

I was scheduled to be induced 10/1 but water broke 9/23 and the boys were born at 35+6.
