Preemies can nurse too!

🤷‍♀️👑

My son was 5 weeks early due to needing to be induced to he had completely stopped growing and was failing the NST and then I had placenta abruption. It has been tricky teaching him to get the perfect latch has he never opened his mouth wide enough. But here we are a week old and I'm producing wayy more than he takes in, he only takes an oz give or take and I'm pumping anywhere from 2-4 oz after he nurses.

Some people tried pushing formula on me because "preemies don't know how to breastfeed yet" "he was born to early, he isn't ready to nurse" and other comments but we proved them wrong and showed them it's a natural extinct that he just needed a little guidance with.

This was the morning after he was born, teaching him how to latch and now he roots and latches on like a pro.
