Marrying The Family
Thoughts on MIL moving in to your 2 bedroom small, upstairs apartment?
I’m stressing so bad over this. She’s on Medicaid & has to switch everything over from one state to another. This process can take at least 45 days to complete. Then there’s a wait list for assisted living. I already hate having people in my space. My child is now a tween & I’m starting to have more time for me. My husband works out of town on weekdays so, I’m pretty sure everything would fall on me. Hubby is an only child. I guess that makes him feel obligated to take her in. MIL has 2 brothers & 5 able bodied sisters left. None of them live in the state we live in. The way morning & evening traffic is set up here, I rarely go back out after getting home from work. I do not want anymore kids and I certainly don’t want an adult to take care of. Did I mention we live in a small 2 bedroom apartment? Even when we buy a house, I never imagined having an extra person there. Why is this happing so soon? I mean we’re in our 30’s. I always thought this would happen later in life. I can’t believe I have to deal with this now.
