How long should a break last?

My bf and I have been thinking about taking a break from our relationship. I wanted to know what would be the right amount of time and what experiences with breaks anyone has.

What’s the point in a break? Either you want to be together or you don’t. I understand maybe needing a little space where maybe you both do your own thing for a week or something but that to me isn’t taking a break.... if you have to break up for a certain amount of time you might as well break up for good. If it was a good relationship you wouldn’t want to take a break.

It all depends on the circumstances. You could be broken up with someone for a year and realize you’re meant to be together. Let things flow naturally and let what’s suppose to happen, happen - without a timeline.
