Eye discharge on newborn.

My son is 4w old he has this annoying eye discharge that just won’t go away . Everytime he sleeps he wakes up with it Sometimes one of his eyes is so sticky and just shut together. He had this since birth I thought it was going to go away and the doctors didn’t say anything was wrong also but it’s still there .

I notified his doctor he prescribed me an ointment which I’m using on him but idk if it’s really working . And it’s so hard to even get it inside his tiny eyes because everytime I try to he closes them shut sometimes I wonder if I’m even getting something in there 😩

It’s so frustrating I just want him to get better i also tried using my breast milk on him but with that idk how many times a day I was supposed to use . Has anyone else experienced this .?

I’m constantly worried and stressed because I just don’t want this to end up being something serious.
