When did you get checked?

I'm 36 weeks today and they haven't checked to see if I'm dilated everyone's saying they should have checked me by now? Is that something you have to ask for?

There’s really no benefit to getting checked. You could be 5cm and not go into labor for two weeks or be 0cm and give birth that afternoon, so sometimes it’s better not to know so you don’t make yourself crazy thinking about your number.

Some doctors won’t because it can trigger labor.

My doctor said she won't do it until 39. Because apparently risk of infection goes up with every check
