So today at the grocery store I work at our system went down. The registers were giving people up to 90% off their entire purchase. We had to shut the store down for almost an hour. During this time we are collecting people’s names and numbers to put their orders on hold. Some baskets are being stored in the fridge to keep the items from going bad. Other baskets we had to put everything back. After we were able to open back up the managers called everyone who had a order on hold back. When they showed up we had to go get the baskets out of the fridge for them. Meanwhile a NBA player is at the store signing autographs. So almost all the employees are standing in line while the store is closed to get this guys autograph or a picture with him. Me? I just want the free meal. I was having to do most of the work that we had to do because of the system going down because it affected my department the most. When I finally got a break I texted my little sister who went full fangirl when I told her who was there. She asked if she could skip school to meet him. She was on lunch so she was able to stay on the phone and he literally talked to her on the phone while signing a picture for her.
