Why do midwives use our LMP for due date ??

Because doesn’t conception happen 2 weeks after that. So based from my last period I am 11 weeks pregnant today exactly but going from my early scan I had couple weeks ago. I am 9 weeks 3 days ??? How does that work ? Really confused 🤷🏽‍♀️

Because they cant tell when you ovulated or concieved some people ovulate very early some later depending on cycle length ..

It’s because LMP is the only date they can be sure of and they factor in the fact that you conceived etc later than that when they come up with the due date estimate. Once you have your dating scan they give you a more accurate guess though x
