Hi so I was diagnosed with PCOS 2 months ago, reason it was checked was due to lack of periods.

I hadn’t had a period for nearly 10 years and I believed this was just due to contraception but my doctor said it shouldn’t have stop them altogether. So o came off the pill a year ago to see and 6 weeks later I got a period, I only ended up having around 5 in the year. I’ve just been having my first period since starting metformin.

Last period before this was June 21st and started metformin around 3rd August I think and this period has lasted 12 days so far!! Longest I’ve ever had has been 5 days.

This is the TMI part!!

It hasn’t been the usual red blood, barely covers the pad and was extremely dark for the first couple of days with serious cramps and Around the last 9 days there hAs been some on the pad but it’s sort of the brown period towards the end. I keep thinking it’s ending then more comes

Is this normal for metformin? Should I be concerned
