When does the 1st trimester end?

Some say 12 weeks (glow) and some say 13-14 weeks. What is considered the beginning of the second trimester?

So Glow says 12 weeks, and I’m pretty sure my dr said 12 weeks because I remember him saying my miscarriage rate when down tremendously at 12 weeks because it’s the end of the 1st tri. I also found the reasoning behind different ideas of when it could be. I prefer going based off of development because that’s where you hit major milestones.

My OBGYN told me 13 weeks. I’ve seen everyone say 14 weeks not sure what they’ve based it on. But I feel like some people can be every rude when commenting about this subject.

14 weeks you are in second trimester each trimester has 13 weeks (besides the third) so the third starts at 27

If you back out 6 months from your due date, you will be at the end of 3 months or 14 weeks. That in my opinion is the end of first trimester. Eg: if your due date is 22nd July,  then your first trimester ends 22nd Jan which is exactly 14wks or 3 months.
