Tips for dying black hair?

I want grey hair (not silver, grey) but after watching so many youtube videos of it not coming out right or saying to use bleach, I'm confused. I don't want to bleach as I used a texturizer 3 weeks ago and don't want so many chemicals in a short time span. Any tips?

Being a professional and seeing as how you used a texturing service on your hair, you need to see a professional or you won’t have hair!  Going from black to silver is a process of 2 or more trips to the salon so that you don’t fry your hair!  If someone tells you they can do it In one sitting run! Your hair needs the breaks in between appointments to heal!  You need your natural oils to rebuild up.

She was two months to get her from red splat to blond and we still had to trim up her hair from the process.
