Is being induced bad?

Question

I've seen posts about people being mad b/c their doc wants to induce them. Is it really such a bad thing? I understand maybe if you've had complications or it's too early, but If you are far enough along and the baby is healthy what's the big issue?
Maybe I'm missing something here but just curious everyone's opinion on the issue

From my experience watching family and friends be induced their labors we're ridiculously long and very hard on them compared to when they had another baby and went into labor naturally. I'm talking nearly an entire 24 hours and more of horrendous pain (from the one's who didn't want an epidural) and labor from the induction and their natural labors only lasted a few hours and with no epidural was much less painful than when they were induced. A drug literally forces your body to go into labor when it's not ready to naturally do it on its own just yet. That's why a lot of people don't like the idea of induction. My OB wants everyone to naturally deliver when their body is ready.

I wish I didnt let them push induction on me with my 1st.. I was young didnt know better. He got stuck and other little things nothing major but I feel it would have went better if he decided when he was ready. 
My 2nd came on his own and it was so quick and easy compared to 1st. 
If there is no true medical reason I dont see a reason to induce. A lot of the meds used can cause contractions to be worse...can cause other complications and issues. I feel it's a lot of forced extra stress and should only be used when truly needed.. not to make scheduling easier.

I’ve had 2 successful, easy inductions 🤷🏻‍♀️
Due to my husbands job that’s what was best for us to insure he would be home for the births. 
I had 0 complications with either one

I am gonna be honest with you and this is only my experience but I was induced and before the process started I took the epidural, my gyn is amazing and he said lets do it and we did. The induction went smooth and quick I only felt pressure an hour before my son was born so I can push. Everyone's experience is different , trust in your dr to me that's the most important part of the process.

I was induced (my choice) and it was easy and relaxing! My baby was fine and delivered in the matter of 20 mins after pushing.
However, I understand others opinions to!!! I mean our bodies are made to do it! I mean nature happens daily and we are apart of nature to!

I had an induction with 2 of mine due to the fact they were over due..42 & 41 weeks. I think inducing prior to due date unless medically necessary is silly but that’s just me. It DEFINITELY makes for a stronger harder labour though

I think it’s because it supposedly increases the need for a csection. I disagree though but what do I know. I was induced with my first at 41 weeks. She was born perfectly healthy with no complications or a csection. I will likely be induced with this one too because I had an issue with my placenta with my first and my doctor would like to avoid that from happening again.

My induction ended with an emergency c section. Generally induction increases your risk for that.
