Is it safe to travel while pregnant?

I need to hear your traveling while pregnant stories! I just looked up “traveling while pregnant” because I was thinking I would get some tips, but instead found a bunch of women that miscarried right after flying in their first trimester. I will be flying multiple times between weeks 6 and 9. This trip was planned way before we found out we were pregnant and the entire thing is already paid for. Please tell me your successful traveling while pregnant stories!

It is perfectly safe to fly until 36 weeks. They obviously had other reasons they miscarried, it wouldnt be because of flying.

Women miscarry in the first trimester. Women travel in the first trimester. Both of those things can be true without any real correlation. 
Travel is perfectly safe for the average woman. I have done air travel and plenty of road trips my entire pregnancy and things are fine. There is no reason to suspect it would cause a miscarriage.

I would guess that the reason there are more stories of women miscarrying after flying in their first trimester is because miscarriage is more likely in the first trimester in general. I would consider it coincidental.  Also, people want reasons after a miscarriage, even if there are none.

I’m flying out Sunday. Two quick flights there and two quick flights back. My doctor wants to check me out Friday before I leave because I lost our first baby but she doesn’t seem concerned about me flying.

I'm 20 weeks pregnant with twins and have had 6 flights in the past 30 days (although all under 4hrs). I haven't had any swelling or issues, even with one very bumpy flight with turbulence. My doctor has me on baby aspirin for the placenta health and the circulation while flying. Just get some compression socks and drink lots and lots of water! 
Oh yeah, and get an aisle seat because you will get up a LOT with all that water. 😂✈️🧦

At 14 weeks i flew from guam to korea to CA to CO. Then back to guam through japan and korea at 17 weeks. The long flights were over 12 hours. It sucked and my feet and ankles swelled up that last day, but baby is healthy and we made it home.

I have traveled my entire pregnancy.  As early as  at 5 weeks I traveled to Europe (6+ hour flight).   I flew at 32+ weeks last week and am traveling at 33+ weeks this week.  And there were a ton of flights in between.  There can be a concern regarding blood clots so talk to you doctor about if you should take baby aspirin before or perhaps wear compression socks (I did both on my long flights in the first and second trimester). Us airlines let you travel up to 7 days before your due date.  Make sure you also drinks lots and lots of water to stay hydrated.
I've told my work I am not flying after 34 weeks.   Something about flying and being pregnant makes me completely exhausted in the 3rd trimester the next day no matter the flight length.

It depends on how you’re doing so far in your pregnancy. I was 5 weeks when I had to travel for work and I miscarried when I got back. Probably because stress of flying across the country. But as my doctor explained, miscarriages happen because they do. It’s nothing you did. It just happens. For most people it’s completely safe for you to travel. To be safe, I would go to the ob and get your hcg checked everyday for a week that way if your hcg doubles then your ok to travel. If it doesn’t double then I wouldn’t suggest traveling.

Air travel is safe during pregnancy. Unfortunately some pregnancies just end for many reasons during the first trimester.
