Is divorce REALLY a sin?

And I'm talking about a marriage that just cannot work things out. Fighting every single day (and not by my choice!!!) and just not able to communicate and compromise on anything. I'm just so tired of it all. It's been a vicious cycle for almost 9 years. Our kids see the fighting everyday. I personally can't believe that a divorce in certain situations is a sin...especially if you really try your damnedest in trying to work it out.

Divorce is NOT a “sin”. Do what’s best for you and your family. It literally makes me mad that any religion would make someone feel this way. If god exists at all he wants you to be happy and setting a good example for your children. Do you dude. I personally would never want my child to have that type of relationship themselves and the best way to avoid that is to not accept it for yourself.

Divorce is a sin,  but most of what we do in our daily lives are sins too. God doesn't want anyone to be unhappy and he will forgive you for the divorce. In fact,  he knew you would feel this way long before you ever did. Do what's best for YOU and your children! ❤

I was married to the wrong person for five years. During that time, I was made to believe all of our problems were my fault. I didn't "believe" in divorce and thought since I made this commitment to God and him, I need to follow through. Year four I started thinking about killing myself. I self medicated, and had xanax for panic attacks. I would pray every night for God to make me love my husband again. Year five, he left. I pushed for counseling and to make things work. He declined. That was the biggest turning point in my life. At that point, I'd still decided to end it, but only after my two dogs passes. I didn't want them alone. Slowly I found out how GREAT I am. I took care of myself, made him sign over the house (which increased almost 100k over the next four years). Then I met my (now) husband. And it was like everything clicked. It was like God was telling me "this was why I didn't answer your prayers the way you expected." I found out what a healthy relationship was. We've been married five year and just had out second baby. I'm crazy about all of them. Sure, it may be a sin. But it can be a  necessary sin I think God pushes you towards sometimes. Looking back, He was there all that time, just not in the way I expected Him to be. 😊

I think it’s pretty important you seek professional help for your marriage. Abuse can come in the form of sexual, physical, financial, emotional, etc. Or cheating. Cheating can take various forms. I advise against divorce unless there is abuse or cheating. I strongly encourage you to research the impact of divorce on children. You need to remember divorce is proximity. You’ll still have to coparent. The issues won’t resolve themselves. Divorce isn’t a sin. There is a reason why God hates divorce. Please put in every effort to resolve the issues before divorcing. Children prefer to come from a broken home, than live in one. And “the church” will steer you against it strongly because of toxic masculinity and patriarchal views.

Marriage will always work as long as both people are actively trying to be a good spouse, carry their load, and show their love. In my opinion, divorce is not an option. If you think of it like that, then you don’t have a cop out for when things get rough. Talk about your differences and work through them. Accept each other for who you both are and stop trying to change each other to who you want the other person to be. As long as YOU are doing your absolute best and trying your absolute hardest, God will be merciful to you if you get a divorce. The person who gives up on trying is the one sinning.
