No baby shower

So this is our first child and we aren't planning a shower. I feel like if my friends or family want to get my baby soemthing they will. I feel like having a baby shower is like "Hey get my baby a gift and in return I'll feed you." So far I have MIL buying the crib and husband sweet GREAT grandma just sending us a load of cash. In the end if no one wants to give my baby nothing thats fine to because in the end we are blessed enough tp afford everything ourselves. Anyone feel similar to this?
