How long should people wait to get into a relationship?

I've been talking to this guy for about a month and we've hung out and stuff..he's hinting at us being in a relationship and I like him and would like to be official but I'm worried about what my family will think.

I mean, there’s no set time... This question is constantly asked, and the thing is, who tells anyone when it’s “right” to be in a relationship, why would you think there is a set time frame for this? Both people should be ready, not just one, and this is something you discuss with the person that you’re interested in.

I don’t feel like there’s a a specific time that you should have to be “official”. I think that the longer you spend in the getting to know you phase the better because relationships either work and you get married and they don’t. And not having a title isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. If you both know it’s an exclusive relationship then does it really need a title?

A month would be fine for me personally, but it definitely depends on how comfortable you are, how much time you’ve spent with him, etc.
