Is getting married 20th April 2019 a bad idea?

Just been to the church to see if we could be married 20th April 2019 just to be told with many horrendous, disgusted faces that this Saturday is for Jesus and for prayers as it's Easter Saturday. 
I didn't even know that was a thing. 
They said we could still get married then as it wasn't a rule not to but seems super disappointed in us even suggesting this. 
This is a Christian church which I know Easter is a big deal but I didn't know it was a big no-no. 
My fiance has suggested for us to get married at a location instead just with a registrar. 
What are your thoughts on this? 
If we move the date it will have to be April 2020 or later due to the availability of the photographer we would like to use plus my brother is getting married in August 2019 so we don't want to be married to close to his date.

Why are you having a church wedding if you didn’t know it was Easter & the implications of that?

Is there a reason you’d have to wait until 2020 if you don’t get married 4/20? Why can’t you do it another weekend in April 2019?

I would just change location if someone is being judgemental about my date choice then I'd rather marry elsewhere and with more supportive ppl

I don’t think it matters that it is easter but I don’t think you’ll find a Christian church to marry you on easter. And if people you plan to invite celebrate easter they may not come or may be annoyed/inconvenienced.

Try to compartmentalise the situation. 
Are you or your partner practicing Christians? 
Do you have many religious relatives or friends who will be attending the wedding? 
Do you really want a church wedding?
If you’ve answered Yes to all of these questions, then Yes, it’s a bad idea. If you’ve answered No, then pick a different venue and a celebrant for the ceremony.

Yeah just go for a different location. But i’d consider who you’re inviting and if they’re super religious or not, and then decide if you’d care if they came to your wedding or not.
I don’t see an issue with it. But that’s just me. I’m looking at dates for April of next year and most venues have that date booked already, so I feel like a lot of people wouldn’t even care.
Have you thought about 4/13/19? That’s probably what i’m doing.

I personally wouldn’t go if I was required to travel (like I live in another town or something) because 1) it’s a holiday weekend, 2) I celebrate Easter and 3) my anniversary is the 21st which unfortunately lands ON easter this year. 
I’m very surprised the church is allowing you to hold a wedding the weekend of. Our church hosts a brunch after and they don’t allow anything the weekend of Easter. If that’s really when you want to get married you could choose a different location or choose a different weekend if you’re not set on that date. Tbh you don’t have a wedding date until you actually have a contract for a venue 🤷🏻‍♀️
