Ideas for staying awake during night feeds?

I know most of us aren’t here yet, but I keep worrying I will fall asleep with baby during night feeds.
Any ideas of how you will stay awake? X

With my first I binged tv shows and just paused the show between feeds lol I’m guessing I’ll do the same this time around 🤣

I would seriously fall asleep every night, but my baby would keep eating until he was finished/ fell asleep too. We coslept for the first few months so me falling asleep wasn’t a super big deal. I would always feed at night in the side lying position so maybe just avoid that position all together if you want to stay awake. Snacks could help too because you’re always hungry when you’re breastfeeding.

With my first I watched Friends during the night time while I breastfed. When he was a newborn I never nursed in bed. I always went to the couch and turned on the tv. As he got bigger I’d just sit on my phone in bed and read stuff since the sessions get shorter.

I bought this nite light timer that clipped to my bra strap and it would buzz. I did a lot of binge watching shows too.
I sat in a chair that made me sit straight up when I felt sleepy. Occasionally I did fall asleep but it was in a safe position for us both.

If it helps, I didn't fall asleep with my first. I'd nurse her while sitting up in bed, then I would change her before switching breasts so that she would perk up again. Then I put her in her bassinet next to my bed and I'd go back to sleep. I didn't use electronic devices and kept lighting low so it would be easier to go back to sleep for me. It worked out well and didn't disrupt my sleeping husband (who had work).

My husband and I split the work for night feeds so it helped. 
Baby would need to feed. He’d get him, change his diaper and give him to me to nurse. Then my husband would take him back. This two person approach helped AND it made me feel supported during the long nights.

I tried being on my phone with baby #2 but I always found myself asleep or dozing off. This time around since my room is downstairs right next to the living room I’ll probably get up and walk over to feed and just put something on tv. Hoping that works. I also really don’t wanna wake my 6 year old or 1 1/2 year old

I fell asleep with my last two I was holding her bottle then she started crying and I had her bottle in her eye she was trying to get her mouth to it lol  my next one I was breast feeding her and she almost rolled off my arms I was sitting on bed I got her quick it's pretty scary I really want to invest In a glider chair with foot rest
