Putting two car seats next to each other ?

Is this a bad idea ??? I’ll have a 2 year old and a newborn
Ideally newborn in middle and 2 year old on passenger side. He’ll be forward facing so he shouldn’t mess with the baby that way. 
Do you think it’s a bad idea though ?? 
What car seats can comfortably fit side by side ?

Join car seat for littles. They have car seat techs who can help you make sure thr car seats can be next to each other without infering with each other. They are super helpful

My SIL has her two year and and newborn next to each other and hasn’t had any problems at all. She did exactly what you described.

What seats are you trying to fit next to each other? What vehicle do you have?

I did this for mine. Graco 4ever next to a graco snugride 30, both rear facing. Then it was eventually 2 graco 4evers one ff and one rf. They started fighting so I separated them but with my 3rd due in a month they will be back side by side again soon

I’ve got 3 in car seats. 5 & 7 year old in boosters and my 6 day old in the middle. It’s a tight fit but so far they just so love to baby boy.  Do what’s easiest for you getting the little one in and out.

Keep the 2 yo rear facing too. They'll be fine though

Join car seats for the littles on facebook. They’re a group of techs that will be able to tell you if this is a safe option with the seats you have and car you have.
Some seats and cars are just not compatible with putting them side by side.

I put my kids on opposite ends. I didn’t want my daughter throwing things inside the babies seat, or smashing her fingers. They will be very close to each other that way.

I’m putting them at the ends. Probably middle only for the first few days
