Why do people fuss over a nursery?

I really don’t understand. Does your baby not stay in your bedroom for the first 9-12 months of his/her life? Are you not anxious having baby sleep in a completely different room? Both of my babies have been in our bedroom for the first 9-12 months and so will baby 3, it reduces risk of sids too. Each to their own but I could never personally do it 😕 maybe its just different in America?

I’m decorating a nursery because it’s fun and I love having a place to put baby’s clothes and a place for the changing table, etc. She won’t be sleeping in the nursery in the beginning but I still love having a nursery for her things. And I don’t live in America, I live in Sweden😊

My husband and I want the nursery for nap times, etc. we have a baby monitor and all. We have a clear understanding that while we are parents now, our room is ours and our baby will only be in our room for the first 3 months. After that we will be putting him in his own room. It’s all based off preference. I’m not super anxious at all about it. I have the proper equipment, and know the grounds my husband and I stand on 🤷🏼‍♀️

Because they need a room. Its fun to decorate and get ready for baby. My last child only slept in our room until she was 4 months old. And slept in her room for naps. Why not fuss over a nursery? It’s fun! I love decorating the house, so this is just another room to do so! ☺️🤷🏼‍♀️

Our baby will be sleeping in our room for a while but she still has a room thats hers where all her things will be kept..it would be a lot to have baby and allll of babys stuff in the parents room

I completely understand where your coming from with the baby sleeping in the same room I couldn’t have my baby sleeping in another room so young especially personally knowing someone who’s baby passed away from sids. I wake up to every movement they make and small things like being sick in their sleep I hear it because their close to me I wouldn’t hear that on a monitor.

Even though bubs will be sleeping in our room we still need a room for all his stuff! Wardrobe, change table, feeding chair etc. I think it's nice to be able to decorate a room if you can. Especially if it's your first child its excited and a way to bond with your empending bub! Also, I would much rather get it done before he is here, because we have to renovate it and it would be so much harder with a baby!

I’m Australian and I have a nursery it isn’t completed yet and I can’t paint because I rent. But bubs will only be in my room until it out grows the bassinet

Our lease is up two months after baby will be born and we'll be moving so I don't see the point of setting one up because baby will be sleeping in a bassinet next to our bed for the first 6 or so months.
Although I think it would be lovely to have a nursery I can decorate for baby, a place to put her clothes and toys. I really do think creating a nursery space is about bonding with baby. I am a little disappointed that I won't get to experience that as this is my first and last baby.
