WHY CHILD!?

Why does my son do this? He does this everytime we try to breastfeed? It hurts so badly. I’m trying to push through and be a trooper because I was to breastfeed but it makes me want to cry.

My LO (10 weeks) does this! I’ve discovered it’s one of two things. One, I have an overactive letdown and she sometimes does this because she’s learned she won’t choke then. Two, in the evening when my flow is a bit slower and she’s extra hungry, she does this because she wants another letdown. Unfortunately, my nipples have gotten so used to it. 😬 I hope it gets better for you!

How old is he? I do cross cradle hold with my LO and support his neck. If he were to try to pull off my hand is on his neck and I push (obviously veeeerry very lightly) on his neck and that adjusts him onto the boob again. Perhaps give that a try? My LO is 11 weeks and he’s been doing that since 8/9.

My LO went through that phase but it didn’t last! I kept my pinky close to his latch and if he started to pull I’d unlatch him quick.
