Child Birth Class?

Question

Has anyone signed up a for child birth class? The hospital where I will be delivering offers a free 7-hour class that includes a tour. 
If anyone has taken one was it helpful? Any recommendations will be appreciated. Thanks

I took a class with my first that included a hospital tour but I'm not planning to take one this time. It was very helpful though so I definitely recommend taking one!

I just finished a 4 week course through my hospital last week. Parts of it I found very informative and parts just seemed like common sense. Overall I’m glad I went because mine was also free and it was nice to connect with other pregnant ladies in person. Also mine was taught by the lactation consultant from my hospital so it was nice to meet her beforehand so things aren’t so awkward later.

This is my 5th in child birth class and I love it. I get all my questions out and don’t have to feel dumb asking them. Mines is a 6 week course. Ours doesn’t end in a tour but you can call and ask for a tour at anytime apparently.

My hospital did a 4 week class that totaled 8 hours. The first two weeks sucked. It was basically a health class and all our instructor talked about was natural birth, hypnobirth, water births (which our hospital doesnt even offer) etc. It was basically like a health class. We didn’t learn anything. She also couldn’t answer any of our questions. 
But the last two weeks we had a new instructor because the first one went on maternity leave and she was AMAZING!!! She went through all the options you have regarding pain relief, intervention, c-sections etc. I wish she taught all the classes. Plus she was able to answer all our questions. 
So I guess what I’m saying is it really depends on your instructor.

We did one that was pretty much just like yours and it was awesome! Idk what your class includes but we got a ton of good information for both of us! Especially dealing with labor and how that works and techniques for both of us. It was also awesome to have the hospital tour! We both knew a lot before going in but it was still a really good class to go to! I would recommend that you go. :)
