Bad news

I had an ultrasound a week ago and I was showing 2 weeks behind at 5 wks 2 days , they said they could not see the fetal pole but said I probably ovulated late and to go back in a week. Well I went back today and apparently I made no progress and was showing the exact same. My OB said this meant I made no progress and this was the earliest stage of miscarriage, even though my HCG levels were going up. He said I should expect to start to miscarry in the next few weeks and sent me for one more HCG to see a difference. That I can choose to naturally miscarry or go through with a DNC .has this happened to anyone else? What was your outcome? This is my first pregnancy.
