Is it okay that my newborn sleeps with me?

She’s four days old in a couple hours. The only way she’ll sleep is if it’s right up next to me. Is this okay? I love it, it’s bonding for me and her too I think. I’m extremely safe and aware (I don’t move in bed and if I do I wake up to move. Also I can’t move because of the stitches.) I just don’t want to get in trouble

No it’s not safe at all even if you think you’re aware while you’re asleep. There are co sleepers you can buy to place in the bed with you so she feels like she’s with you but it keeps her safe & you worry free!

It is much safer to plan to bedshare and follow the safe sleep 7 than it is to accidentally fall asleep with baby on an unsafe surface such as a sofa through exhaustion. If your baby will not sleep in their own space - which many babies won’t because it’s not biologically normal to separate newborn infants from their mothers - you should follow guidance to make it as safe as possible

I coslept with my first and I am currently with my second. Everyone is different and needs to do what is best for them. Yes it can be dangerous but I really feel it depends on the people.

I sleep with my almost 3 week old every night in my arms no blankets or pillows around her face it's what works best for me.

With my first born I co-slept. 
I pushed my bed up against the wall and slept on the opposite side. I was also a single parent at the time so it was just the two of us in bed.
But I’m a still sleeper and wake up to the slightest things. I never rolled over on him or had any problems. 
However with this next baby I’m getting a bassinet to put right beside the bed because my husband is a heavy and restless sleeper.

Technically, no. However, it is also the only way my baby would sleep when she was born. So that’s what we did.

There are co sleepers you can buy to put in bed beside you. Honestly with my first I had him sleep with me sometimes without the co sleeper. But while not at night I held him all the time. I didn't put him down unless I had to go to the bathroom or change. When my daughter was born I was a little more relaxed with her. Sometimes I took naps with her or would fall asleep with her just becsuse I was do exhausted and my husband would wake me up to put her to bed. Really its not safe but if you feel comfortable then do it and its your child.

Doesn’t matter how safe you think you or being I’m sure all parents thought they have been safe and have sadly lost their child. Only takes baby to move into the wrong position to suffocate. Have you thought of buying a next to me ?

Nope 🙅🏻🙅🏻 and it has nothing to do with how "safe" you are. Your little one CANNOT breathe properly on softer surfaces. PERIOD. You're putting your child in danger every single time you do it. She needs to be on a firm, flat surface in her own sleep space.

Nope. I don’t care how safe you think you are. It takes one slight move to kill a baby. And that move could be from a pillow, blanket, article of clothing etc. so find somewhere else. Rock n plays work well, try swaddling that helps too.
