Period with an iud??

I am just wondering if anyone else with an iud had this experience? I had my period after getting it inserted and it stopped for 2 days and then had light pink spotting for a day and the next day I had mild cramps and some light  mucousy blood discharge. Is this normal? Am I the only one experiencing this?

Iuds don’t always stop periods but can make them lighter. When I had my iud in I had one light period before it stopped all together

Iuds stop periods! I wish people's doctors would tell them this stuff.

I had the one with hormones in it for 3 years and after 2 cycles into having it my periods completely stopped. After having it taken out I was on the depo shot for 3 months and didn't like it but I didn't have a period for over a year after that. I thought I was broken lol. Its common to have less periods while having the iud with hormones in it.
