First period on Paraguard copper IUD

I’m on my first period after inserting the IUD but it’s unusually light. The blood is bright red, like period blood but it’s like I’m spotting but heavily spotting ??? The first day it was just one gush of blood and PAINFUL cramps but the next morning I barely had any blood on my tampon and through the day.. is this normal ? I’m on day three, no cramps, VERY light bleeding.
