FIRST PERIOD ON PARAGUARD COPPER IUD

I am on day three of my first period after the IUD insertion. It is unusually light- almost like spotting but a little heavier. The blood is exactly like period blood and I have no cramps. The first day the cramps were almost unbearable but that has gone completely. I was told that I was supposed to bleed heavier and longer with stronger cramps but I am not experiencing that . Is this normal ?
