Did they drug test at birth?

How do you know they tested you? Did they have a reason to? And what type of test did they preform?

They always take blood and urine samples. The reason they test is to keep children safe from the selfish, disgusting people who endangered their lives while they didn’t have the right to their own bodies yet.

The reason to test is because of the child you just gave life. They’re making sure that it won’t detox/withdrawal off drugs. That’s torture to a grown up, imagine what it feels like to an infant who is trying to adjust to life.

They don’t ask, they just test. And mom and baby are tested. And if you say no negativity, I’m sorry but when you’re discussing drugs and newborns, it’s going to get negative. I smoke weed but I don’t do it while pregnant and I really didn’t do it between having my first and getting pregnant with my second. Too difficult to wake up at night and I was always so tired the next day because I never got enough sleep. But if you’re doing illegal drugs, they will know.

I'm guessing you're all from the US? I'm in Canada and have never heard of mom or baby having to take a drug test unless there was reasonable cause..

I dont believe my birthing center tests since it's like a home birth setting.. but I'm not worried about it since i dont do drugs 🤷‍♀️ I usually even suffer through my headache because I'm too worried about pill side effects to the baby

They’ll test you and hopefully if you’re positive you won’t see baby until you’re a better person :). No judgment, but don’t do drugs while pregnant, mind you, drugs also stay in baby’s blood stream/ urine a lot longer then yours also so you’ll most likely test positive if within the last couple months you smoked weed or whatever.

My grandma adopted her 3 nephews all drug babies. The oldest was 2 the youngest was 2 days. The mom was bragging about shooting up 30 minutes before she went into labor. You don’t deserve a child if you are going to do this. People who get caught with drugs in their system the first time need their damn tubes tied!

They test you, the baby and your placenta where I live. If ANY one of you come up positive, they take that baby away. 
Its smart and its necessary. It stops a lot of drug addicts from taking home a baby that they won't end up taking care of.

You dont know that they test baby, but most states require it to be done and if positive, automatically reported to CPS. They check to see if anything is in the babys system, yes, even weed. I know for a fact that Georgia & Alabama test.
