How long does it generally take from starting stims to egg retrieval?

Answer

It really depends on how your body responds to the meds. With injectables, my body responded pretty quickly, within 7-8 days, but some people can take longer.  Since normal ovulation occurs 14 days after your period, I would guess someone could stim anywhere from 6-13 days. Then you do the retrieval once your eggs are ready to go. Once the eggs are fertilized, they usually wait 3-5 days to put them back in during a fresh cycle or you can freeze and do the transfer at a later date as a frozen cycle. If you want to do genetic testing, you have to freeze them and wait until your next cycle. The process can depend on your doctor also.
