How to grocery shop cheaper

I need help ladies!

My husband and I currently spend $150 a week for groceries. However, that’s way too much for how much we make. That’s like 25% of our monthly income, and right now we have a lot of debt we are paying off. Once that’s paid it will be different. Anyways, we eat pretty cheap or so I thought. It’s the meat that kills us, even though we buy on sale!

Here’s an example of just one week

Breakfast- a banana & oatmeal

Lunch- peanut butter and jelly sandwich

Dinner- we typically have super cheap things from Walmart like frozen chicken and fries, spaghetti, frozen pizzas, pot pies, hamburger helper, etc. We don’t eat healthy at all because it’s SO expensive!

Last week we tried a crockpot challenge that was healthy. We made chicken, green beans and potatoes, Mac and cheese, beef pot roast, chicken pot pie (used leftover chicken from previous nights) and stuff like that. It ended up being $174 for that week.

Other items we get for the week are

Milk, apples, water, occasionally bagels, bread, and sometimes cereal.

So as you can see, very minimal. We aren’t eating enough yet it cost so much. I use coupons and look out for sales. I make full grocery lists. I just don’t know what to do
