Does your husband take kids/play with kids once he gets home from work?

My husband plays with little one when he is home or when he can. I honestly look forward to that time to myself. But he is always telling me I’m lucky he does this because not many dads do this. Is that true?

Fuck him for saying that. He's their dad. He's supposed to act like it. He's not doing you any favors, you're not "lucky". He's lucky he isn't my husband because I'd snap back at him so fast for saying that crap to me.

My husband and I were talking last night, because he had to work late, he was saying how “lucky he is” he gets to play with our son most nights when he gets home. He was disappointed he didn’t get much time before bed last night.

My husband is alwaaaags playing with our daughter, got up in the night when she was an infant and will still get up with her at the age of 4 if she asks for him. He will be the same for our son that’s due soon. He helps me with a lot, he’s pretty perfect in my eyes 😂 BUT that’s not me being lucky... that’s him being an amazing daddy and husband. I never thank him for helping with our daughter, that’s his job as her daddy, but I let him know he’s appreciated and how wonderful he is of course!

Ummm... not only does my hubby play with the kids when he comes home from work... he cooks dinner, bathes them, and lets me nap whenever I want. He spends most of his free time with our kids. I work nights part time so he even puts them to bed most nights. I think I’m pretty damn lucky, BUT I don’t think that most dads don’t play or watch their own kids.

No you are not lucky. If he’s at work all day he should want to come home and see his children. My husband gets home at 6:15 and we put my daughter to sleep at 7:30 and he is always bummed at how little he gets time with her during the week.

Yes that is true. Some dads are just pieces of shit or deadbeat fathers. My SO plays with he kids and helps out after work. Taking care of kids and a household is a fulltime job too.

Some dads suck and think that taking care of their kid isn't their responsibility, this much is very true. However, your husband shouldn't think you are lucky because he plays with his kid. He should want to do that! 
My husband has a super commute, works 40+ hours a week, and does 6 hours of night school a week (literally gone half the hours in a week). He still plays with our son as soon as he gets home and all weekend. I don't feel "lucky" because he plays with our son. I expect him to!
However, I do feel extremely grateful that I found someone who takes on so much and still wants to take care of me. I've seen way too many relationships where this isn't the case.
