I've never been to a funeral but an 'uncle' died last week so the funeral is coming up and I'm going. He was 90 and kept to himself quite a bit so most of the other people going will be older (I'm 20). I'm pretty sure he was Christian and will be buried, not cremated (although they're having trouble finding anywhere with space so they might cremate). The weather here is somewhere around 15-20C which is cool and rain is always a possibility where I live.

I don't even know where to start because I still live in jeans and baggy tops. The only formal dresses I have are ott but I know I can't wear jeans, even smart black ones, with the type of people going. I don't know how much black is required and the only black dress I have is a bit showy (it's a Karen Miller body con with slight ruffling and gems on the top). As for the other black things I own:

-Maxi skirt

-Mid calf culottes

-Work trousers

-Shirt with a black lace collar and gold, spike buttons

-Casual black blazer (it's not fitted and it's a cheap material with 3/4 sleeves)

-Jumper with exposed shoulders and cream lace around the holes

...I don't wear much black and most things I have are definitely not formal enough.

Would the length of the culottes be a problem? They're a bit smart if I iron them but I don't know if I should cover up with their age (we're Welsh so the older generation is still quite conservative).

I could justify buying new clothes if I don't have anything that suits this.
