Protective pup

My dog has always been a mama’s boy since we rescued him less than a year ago from a rescue that found him starved and tied up with scars and all skin and bones. However, since becoming pregnant he has become my shadow and has taken it upon himself to police our other dog who gets a bit crazy sometimes. My sweet boy has to put his head on my stomach every time I take a seat or lay down and when I shower, he sits outside the shower door on guard. He even started detecting when my blood pressure was getting ready to drop (I have a health condition where it drops randomly into the 70s-80s and I have to lay down so I don’t pass out) and he cries to me in a specific tone, giving me time to sit down and lay back which he then joins me until it normalizes.

Recently we’ve stepped up our night routine though — he went from sleeping at my feet to now sleeping inside my maternity pillow with me. I do have to admit, he makes a great back support and I’m sleeping a lot sounder now. Does anyone else have a super protective pup?
