Joint custody

When you split with your SO and had joint custody how did you handle being away from your kid/s? My boyfriend and I are just not working out. I don’t know if we’ll work things out but for now I said this week I’m staying at my moms and he can have him on his days off which will be tomorrow-Wednesday and I’ll get him Wednesday night and he’ll be with me the rest of the week. But I don’t know how to handle being away from my son that long. I’ve never been away from him for more than 8 hours. I’m so hurt this is happening, more so being away from my baby😔

And I’m currently not working I just finished school so I’m looking for a job. So I unfortunately don’t have that to keep me busy.
