Has anyone had the surgery for in toeing/pigeon toes?

Me

Not sure if this is the only cause for pigeon toes or not but I’m talking about the corrective surgery for femoral anteversion, it’s called femoral derotation osteotomy. If so please tell me about it. How old were you when you got it? How did the surgery go, how was recovery. Did it work in the long term?

I’m 23 and have been pigeon toed all my life. Unfortunately none of my doctors ever noticed so no corrective action was taken and I never grew out of it. I’ve had knee and ankle pain in both legs all my life..growing up I always just thought it was normal. 3 years ago I fractured my left hip and since then have had horrible hip pain on top of the knees and ankles. My left leg has turned in even more than the right since I fractured my hip. My ortho says it is more than likely that I will need this surgery and I’m completely freaked out about it. Any info on it would really help me. Thank you
