So I’ve been having brown discharge before and after my periods for nearly 2 years I would say. They are not always on time and it can vary for how long I am on for. I haven’t been on any contraception for 2 and a half years (due to side affects of the different types of pills so I gave up with all types of contraception). Me and my partner have been together for nearly 5 years and I have never been pregnant. I’ve been to the doctors numerous times, I have had sexual health checks (not that I have been unfaithful or believe my partner has), I’ve had two internal scans (both normal) and they have only now just suggested I have endometriosis.

My periods are becoming increasingly painful, the pain is now spreading down to my knees, with the tops of my legs feeling numb sometimes. I have had thyroid blood tests which have come back as a bit abnormal, with my levels being low.

I’m so worried that I am infertile and due to my young age (22) the doctors have said they can only do the tests to check if I am fertile or not when I am actually trying for a baby. But I am scared that when the time comes, it will be too late. Me and my partner would love to have children and I have always known since a very young age I would always want kids.

I would like to know if those who have endometriosis, does this sound similar? If so, are there any treatments for it, except surgery? And what’s your story on getting pregnant successfully
