Okay y’all, get ready for this embarrassing but HILARIOUS story.

So I had been using the Diva Cup for about a year. No issues at all. I advocated (still do) about it, and used it every single time I got my period.

So anyways, it was Labor Day weekend and I came home from college. My boyfriend came to stay the night. I was on my period. Of course I used my Diva Cup, because I didn’t really want to risk bleeding on the sheets because I have a pretty heavy flow and that’s a job and a half. At the time we’d only been together a little over 2 months. (We’ve been really good friends for about a year) And nonetheless things were getting pretty heated.

After a little while, I went to the bathroom to change my cup. I went to find it, and I couldn’t feel it. Out of confusion, I went to look for the bag I keep it in, just to make sure I didn’t take it out, and it was MIA.

At that point I started to freak a little bit. So I decided to take a “deeper” look. Then I felt it. The cup had somehow shifted up about 4-5 inches up into my vagina and was suctioned to the right side. I couldn’t grasp the bottom enough to break the suction and pull it out. After about 5 minutes of trying to work this out. I was in major freak out mode.

I waddled into my room, cracked the door and told my boyfriend what was going on. In a very sweet voice, I asked him if he could help me return the cup into the bag. He had this confused look from his face, and followed me into the bathroom. From our earlier shenanigans I had enough neutral lubricant to try to work it out. (Luckily we’re both very comfortable with each other so I wasn’t too embarrassed) But eventually I went dry, and i was hurting a little bit. I remembered that you could use organic coconut oil as a lubricant, and I went to the kitchen to grab it.

I kid you not, after a good thirty minutes, he was finally able to break the suction and pull it out enough for me to grasp it. It was terrifying at the moment, but hilarious looking back at it. I haven’t used it sense, just because it’s a hassle with college and everything and I have a shared bathroom.
