When can I test?

I ovulated on the 1st. When can I test? I took a test yesterday and it showed a negative. 😥

I ovulated on the 23rd and got my bfp nearly 3 weeks later just this last Sunday. It isn’t as accurate to test before your period so I tested the day it was supposed to come
