Hypnobirthing?

Question

Who has tried hypnobirthing? Did it work? What was your experience?
I already do a good amount of meditation and mindfulness exercises so I will give this an honest go. I'm curious to hear from others who have been through this already.

I have twice and loved it. We took the Curtis Method found at hypnobirthingutah.com. Consistency is KEY, and having a positive mindset going in can make or break your experience. I never expected to be pain free necessarily but I did learn to cope really well and never felt like I was out of control or couldn’t do it (aside from 10 minutes of transition 😂) Reading/watching positive birth stories was also really helpful. Love Ina May Gaskin’s books (pretty hippy dippy but the stories are amazingly empowering).

Yep! I didn’t get super into it but I did read the book and decided to adopt the positive language and visualizations and I absolutely think it helped get me through my home birth!

I never tried hypnobirth but both my experiences so far were drug free and positive except for transition between 10cm and pushing. You kind of loose control and say things like I've had enough or cut me open etc. Funny to look back on. I just had positive thoughts and preferred to be in control
